Devon Bird of Prey Centre
Several years ago Karen Andriunas, an expert falconer came to us with a proposition, to build a fabulous Bird of Prey Centre where she could display her growing collection of birds and promote her keen interest in birds of prey. Here, at Fermoy's is the realisation of her dream.
The Devon Bird of Prey Centre is a self-funded visitor centre operating by donation. You can observe owls, hawks, eagles and falcons in their specially constructed aviaries whilst learning about their history and habitats. Expert volunteers are on hand to offer insights into the birds’ natural behaviour giving the whole experience a very personable touch. For a small additional charge you can also enjoy the remarkable experience of flying displays (subject to weather).
The Centre runs a variety of ‘experience’ days as well as courses in falconry. These allow you the opportunity to get ‘up close’ to the birds and enjoy the unique feeling of the flight of the bird from the falconers glove.
Karen is passionate about her birds and their natural care and welfare. The Devon Bird of Prey Centre reflects her passion and determination – it is a wonderful, rewarding educational experience, one that you shouldn’t miss!
